Lesson 1
About your 500 Hours Advanced Teacher Training Yoga Sadhana
Yoga is a path, practice, and the end goal leading us to an absolute union of the Self with the Divine Self, which in the beginning can be understood as total harmony between body, mind and spirit. Through the Sadhana of Asana, Mudra, Bandha, Pranayama, Jnana Yoga Kriyas and Yogic attitude, one can align and merge with and within the universal energy of Param-Shiva.
According to Hinduism, and traditional Yoga Schools, Lord Shiva is considered the Yogeshwar (Master of Yoga), Parma-Pita (founder of Yoga), Adi-Yoga-Guru and Siddha (Ancient or first practitioner, founder and Master of Yoga). Shiva-Shamhita and Vijnana Bhairava Tantra are two of the most authentic Tantra and Yoga texts, each recorded as a dialogue between Lord Shiva and his wife Shakti or Parwati.
Vijnana Bhairava Tantra details 112 techniques of Dharna or subtle energy visualisations to attain absolute harmony with the potential self and subtle energies to enter into the universal and transcendental state. Vijnana Bhairava Tantra is considered one of the highest, most knowledgeable and most exquisite Shastras (sacred texts) in Tantra Yoga.
The word “Tantra” is a Sanskrit term which means to weave or expand. Tantra comes from two Sanskrita roots - ‘Tan’ means body, and ‘tra’ means tool. Tantra uses the body as a divine tool or instrument to attain union with the Supreme Consciousness of Param-Shiva.

Here he was blessed by the presence of his Guru Sthita Prajna Ji, who guided Jnandev on every level of his sadhana. Also, Jnandev spent most of his time in one of the richest libraries, where he managed to read or study many original scriptures and manuscripts.
Since 2000, Jnandev has written many articles, and research papers in India. This was the beginning point of this yoga course. Since then, Jnandev has visited and lived in many ashrams, and yoga institutes to learn, practice and grow in his sadhana.
From 2003 to 2006, Jnandev worked in one of the most reputed schools in Jaipur (M.G.P.S, Vidyadhar Nagar, Jaipur) and learned, followed and taught various hatha yoga kriya sets and asanas and mudras from beginners to advanced levels during this time.
During this time to understand our mind from a modern perspective, Jnandev also completed a Master in Psychotherapy and Counselling course (distance learning).
2006-07 Jnandev, in search of advancing his sadhana yogic development and for the true authentic yoga , arrived at Ananda Ashram, Puducherry and completed the six-month advanced yoga teacher training course under the guidance of his now Guru Ammaji Meenakshi Devi and Dr Ananda Balayogi Bhavanani. This intensive six-month course in Gitananda Rishiculture Ashtanga Yoga gave a new life or birth to the present Jnandev. Ammaji also gave the name and title ‘Yogachariya Jnandev’ to Surender at the end of the course, which he uses in most parts of his life now.
After meeting with Yogacharini Deepika, Jnandev arrived in the UK in 2008. In 2009 he established Yoga Satsanga Ashram, Wales, UK, and in 2010-11 started to run the first foundation course in Yoga compiled from all these writings and teachings Jnandev was working on since 2000.
